Governor of Chuuk in support of Presidential Nomination of Mr. Ihlen Joseph to JEMCO

Palikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): January 27, 2010 - As the 3rd Regular Session of the FSM Congress begins, President Mori has three nominations still pending before the Congress that were submitted during the 2nd Special Session, one of which has been endorsed by the Governor of Chuuk, Hon. Wesley Simina.

President Mori had solicited comments on the nomination for the FSM's 2nd representative to the Joint Economic Management Committee (JEMCO), Mr. Ihlen Joseph, to garner support for this nomination in Congress. Governor Simina wrote to the President and stated that he agrees with the President's nomination of Mr. Joseph and he believes that Mr. Joseph is well qualified for the position. He offered his full support for this nomination and the Governor stated that he believes that FSM will be well represented if Mr. Joseph is to sit on JEMCO.

If Congress approves the nomination, Mr. Joseph will join the FSM Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Lorin S. Robert, as the second representative to JEMCO from the FSM.

Other nominations still pending before Congress are Mr. Akillino H. Susaia for the Ambassador to the People's Republic of China and Mr. Patrick McKenzie to sit on the Joint Trust Fund Committee.
