Resignation from the FSM Red Cross Steering Committee

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): February 11, 1997 - Dr. Johnny S. Hedson communicated to Acting President Jacob Nena on January 21 saying that during the formation of the FSM Red Cross Steering Committee in early 1996, he was designated by FSM President Bailey Olter to be a member of the FSM Red Cross Steering Committee.

"The committee has worked diligently and with firm commitments over the last year formulating the Constitution and by-laws of this non-profit society, which I am very convinced a good population of the FSM community will greatly benefit from, during disaster relief. I must congratulate each and every member of the committee, who had contributed constructively and meaningfully to the imminent formation of this worthwhile society," said Dr. Hedson.

Dr. Hedson regretted very much, but to tender his resignation from this Steering Committee effective immediately, as he has lost one of his surgeons, and his time has become extremely limited only to his patients in the hospital. "However," he said, "to be well informed of the movements of Red Cross Society, I have asked Mr. Paulino Rosario, Chief Laboratory Technician at the Pohnpei State Hospital, to replace me, pending consent of the FSM President's Office, and the Co-Chairman of the Red Cross Steering Committee."

"Thank you very much for allowing me to participate in the formation of this worthwhile society."
