Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs visits Pohnpei
Palikir, POHNPEI (Department of Foreign Affairs/FSMIS): March 15, 2005 - The Government of the People's Republic of China has granted 2,000,000 Yuan RMB to the Federated States of Micronesia to fund the purchase of vehicles for the Department of Foreign Affairs for Protocol use in a signing ceremony held on Wednesday, February 23, 2005.
The visiting Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Zhou Wenzhong, signed on behalf of the Government of the People's Republic of China with the Government of the FSM represented by Secretary Sebastian Anefal of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The ceremony provided an opportunity for both governments to strengthen and reaffirm commitments of bilateral and multilateral relations.
A reception dinner at the Cliff Rainbow Restaurant was made in honor of visiting Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Zhou Wenzhong.
Witnesses to the signing ceremony included His Excellency, President Urusemal, Acting Speaker Halbert, Senator Neth, Cabinet and Staff Members from the Departments of Foreign Affairs and TC&I, NORMA and the FSM Postal Services.
