Assistant postmaster receives fraud examiner designation

POHNPEI, Palikir (FSM Information Service): April 2000 - Assistant Postmaster General Jack J. Jack has been bestowed the designation Certified Fraud Examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners located in Austin, Texas.

Jack, who had been with the FSM Public Auditor's Office before moving into the assistant postmaster position early this year, studied and tested for the certification in Texas.

CFEs are responsible for bringing to resolution a wide range of allegations of fraud and white-collar crime. Their training gives them the expertise to obtain evidence, take statements and write reports, testify to findings, and assist in all aspects of detecting and preventing white-collar crime, according to an Association press release announcing Jack's certification designation.

This designation is one of many of the Association's efforts against white-collar crime, according to the release.

This professional organization for fraud examiners has an international membership of 5,000 consisting mainly of accountants, auditors, investigators, criminologists, lawyers, and law enforcement personnel, according to the release.
