President Mori Invited to Give State of the Nation Address
Palikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): May 12, 2009 - In Congressional Resolution 16-02, the 16th FSM Congress has invited President Manny Mori to deliver the State of the Nation address. This will be the second time that President Mori will stand before Congress and deliver this address. President Mori plans to address the nation tomorrow, May 13, 2009, and his speech will be broadcast live over the radio via Telecom. Immediately following the address, the speech will be available online from the President's website at www.fsmpio.fm under the "Speeches" tab.
This year, the President's address should last approximately 45 minutes and it will give a comprehensive look at the economy, infrastructure developments, continued reform of the Executive Branch, energy reform, the 2010 National Government budget, regional initiatives and the way forward. Although the exact time of delivery is not known, the broadcast from the Congress Chamber will begin at 10:00 am. The public is invited to attend the session or listen to it live on the radio in any of the four FSM States.
