Chinese Acrobatic Performances Attracted Thousands

Palikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): June 16, 2010 - Thousands gathered at the China-FSM Friendship Sports Center at the COM National Campus on June 8 and 9, to attend the performances of the internationally renowned Chinese Chongqing Acrobatic Art Troupe. Themed as "China Impression Across the Pacific", 12 young acrobats performed martial arts, top technology acts, strength performances, jar tricks, and jujitsu, as well as a circus comedy named "snatch the chair" accompanied by traditional Chinese music. The incredible stunts won thundering applauses and left the audience gasping and cheering for more.

"I am completely dazzled and awed at the Chinese acrobatic show," said one of the audience, "the performers will send your heart flying as you watch the excellently coordinated dance and opera moves brilliantly synchronized with the stage decor and the effects of lighting and sound." He watched both

of the performances but still asked "when will they come back again?"

During the past years, both China and the FSM have made continuous efforts to promote the cultural exchanges between the two countries to further enhance the friendly bilateral relations; there are more upcoming events on the schedule of the Chinese Embassy in the FSM, and the performances done by the Chongqing Acrobatic Troupe serve as a warming-up show to a series of cultural events for the years to come.

As the organizer of this event, the Chinese Embassy in the FSM extended their utmost appreciation to the FSM national government, the Pohnpei State government, the President's Information Office, the College of Micronesia national campus and all their staff, and volunteers for their kind assistance and help to make this a success.
