Amato Elymore Dies on June 20, 2010

Palikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): June 25, 2010 - On June 23, 2010, family members, friends and colleagues gathered at the Elymore residence to pay tribute to Amato Elymore who passed away in his sleep at Pohnpei State Hospital on June 20, 2010.

Reverend Suda Rayel, Director of Administration for Congress, on behalf of all those present who wished to share the burden of this loss with Elymore's family, gave a prayer for Elymore's safe-keeping. Isiro Choram, family representative, Vice-President of Chuuk Senate, expressed gratitude for all those in attendance, including Vice-President Alik, Chief of Staff Kasio Mida and Assistant to the President on Legislative Affairs Pelsesar Petrus, who came to pay their respect and give their condolences to the family. "Amato Elymore was a great and humble person; we are thankful to have known him, he will be greatly missed," said Choram.

Vice President Alik expressed his condolences and, on behalf of President Mori and the national government, thanked Elymore's family for Elymore's committed service to the government. Elymore, originally from Namoluk, Chuuk, dedicated more than 20 years of his life to public service. "It is with deepest sorrow and heart crushing that we have to loose our beloved and dear friend, relative, and brother Amato. He was the kindest, most caring, and nicest person ever known," said Fabian Nimea, Director of SBOC.

The burial ceremony will take place on Friday, June 25, 2010.
