Vice President Alik convenes the 7th National Trade Facilitation Committee Meeting for January 20-24, 2014Palikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): January 16, 2014 - The Federated States of Micronesia Vice President Alik L. Alik, Chairman of the FSM National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC) is convening the 7th NTFC meeting on January 20-24 at the Tuna Commission's Annex Building in Kolonia. The meeting will focus on current trade and investment issues including: progress review of the implementation of recommendations adopted during the Investment Facilitation Symposium in May, 2013; discussion on the Draft FSM Investment Guide; review of the implementation of the FSM's National Export Strategy; and, consultations on the Micronesian Trade Committee Draft Treaty. In addition, the meeting will also avail discussion opportunity and progress final works on the Draft FSM Fisheries Policy that has been developed with assistance from the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) in consultation with relevant national and state stakeholders. Participants to the 7th NTFC Meeting include all cabinet Members from the FSM National Government, Chairmen of State Trade Facilitation Committees, Officials responsible for investment and fisheries at the State level, representatives from State Chambers of Commerce, representatives from State Export Heroes Teams, key stakeholders from the fisheries industries, and technical advisers from FFA and the Commonwealth Secretariat-Hub & Spokes Programme.
