FSM National Police conducts law enforcement training for COM-FSM Security OfficersPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): January 16, 2014 - College of Micronesia National Campus and Pohnpei State Campus Security Officers proudly displayed their certificate awards after completing a four day Basic Law Enforcement Training which was hosted and delivered by the senior staff of the FSM National Police. The training was coordinated between President Joseph Daisy, College of Micronesia, and Secretary April Dawn M. Skilling, FSM Department of Justice. The training was designed to enhance law enforcement skills and knowledge of the participants in dealing with the community, students, staff, and those that commit crimes within the compound of the two College Campuses. The participants were taught ethics, basic policing techniques, crime prevention, report writing, interview techniques, basic investigation, basic intelligence techniques, and crime scene preservation. The team of instructors concluded their presentation by a presentation on Trafficking in Person followed by 2 video clips, one on sex trafficking and the final one was on labor trafficking. At the closing of the training, the Acting Chief of FSM National Police conveyed Secretary Skilling's appreciation to the President of the College of Micronesia for his keen interest in having the FSM National Police deliver a training that will improve work performance by members of the COM Security Officers. Acting President Joe Habuchmai in his closing remarks thanked the Chief of Police and his staff for executing a training that he believes will improve the working relationship between the COM Security Officers and Officers of the FSM National Police. |
