Resolution accepts US funding for FY-04PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): January 17, 2004 - The Third Special Session of the Thirteenth Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia has adopted Congressional Resolution No. 13-67, to accept financial assistance from the United States for fiscal year 2004. The resolution becomes the first adoption of the 3rd Special Session of the 13th CFSM which had convened on January 14, pursuant to a call issued by President Joseph J. Urusemal. Speaker Peter M. Christian requested members to concentrate their efforts during the 10-day session on the issues submitted by the President, one of which has been adopted as Congressional Resolution No.13-67. The other issues include issues included a proposed restructuring of the executive branch, pending nominations, the FY 2004 budget, ratification of the new Compact, and a bill to establish new fiscal procedures in accordance with the amended Compact with the United States. Other non-Compact related matters include a bill to accept the draw down of the first tranch of Private Sector development loan from the Asian Development Bank, funding for slippage for F.S.S Micronesia and supplemental funding for the College of Micronesia-FSM. |
