FSMSSA holds annual conference in PohnpeiPalikir, POHNPEI(FSM Social Security Administration/ FSM Information Service): February 21, 2006 - The 2006 Annual Conference of the Federated States of Micronesia Social Security Administration is underway in Pohnpei from February 20th through the 24th. According to the Administration the conference is to address certain issues concerning its offices. The theme for the conference is "Resolving Our Differences Together, as a Team". The conference will serve as a time for the staff to address these issues and to come up with solutions in a unified effort in order to better the program's services to beneficiaries, employees and employers alike. During the conference, FSMSSA staff from the four state offices as well as the headquarters office in Pohnpei will be meeting to discuss important issues concerning the FSMSSA and its workings in a bid to optimize services currently available to the public. During the conference, the staff will also be trained on the usage of the new database system that is currently being used by the headquarters and Pohnpei State offices. As a precaution against hidden bugs and errors, the headquarters and Pohnpei Branch offices were first installed with the new software. The other branch offices will get the upgrade once everything is running smoothly and all the bugs and errors, if any, are cleaned out and corrected. The new software comes with a more powerful array of tools that will allow the FSMSSA to more efficiently enter and track data, manage claims and benefits, and generate improved statistics. During the five-day span of the conference, key presentations will be made by various staff from the headquarters that will attempt to pinpoint weaknesses in the program and to allow for a unified effort in improving the FSMSSA.
