Reorganization Continues With Three More Posts FilledPalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Services): February 29, 2008 - More members boarded the FSM President's Cabinet as President Manny Mori again administered the oath of office for three more Congressional-confirmed nominees in the President Conference Room on February 26, 2008. The new cabinet members who took the oath were; Rev. Midion G. Neth of Pohnpei who was sworn in as the FSM Post Master General, Mr. Maketo Robert from Chuuk as FSM Secretary of Justice and Rev. Kimeuo Kimiuo again from Chuuk for the Office of the National Election Director. Post Master General Midion G. Neth, born March 3, 1951, is married to Mrs. Lihse Santos Neth. They are blessed with four sons and two dauthers and they are; Mitchell, Mitchon, Reskey, Melisalynn, Iolaney and Midion Neth Jr. Rev. Neth was the Deputy Secretary for the FSM Department of Health Education and Social Affairs, prior to that, from 1998 to 1999, Rev. Neth was the FSM Disaster Coordinator (President Appoint) and from 1992 to 1998 he was posted as the Director of Commerce for the Pohnpei State Government. Rev. Neth was a three term Senator for the Pohnpei State Legislature, serving from 1984 to 1996. Rev Neth graduated from the University of Guam with a B.A. Degree in Education. And he got an AA degree from the College of Southern Idaho. Secretary Maketo Robert graduated from the University of Guam with a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. His previous occupation was the State Attorney General during Governor Walter's administration, which ended on April 2005. Secretary Robert represented Chuuk State on the FSM Team entrusted with the mandate to renegotiate the expired provision of the Compact of Free Association between the government of the FSM and the government of USA, which concluded with the agreed Amended Compact of Free Association. He also served as the legal council for the Micronesian Maritime Authority. He was also a delegate to the Micronesia Constitutional Convention of 1975 which was held at the White Sand Hotel in Saipan. Secretary Robert's unlimited and vast legal career could be traced all the way back to TTPI time, Finally, Director Reverend Kimiuo was born May 13, 1946 in Tolensom, Chuuk. He went to the University of Hawaii, Manoa from 1976 to 1978 where he received his BA in Linguistic and Bilingual Education after attending Truk High School in Moen. Director Kimiuo was the Chief of Schools for the State of Chuuk from November 2003 to November 2005. And just before that he was the Chief of Federal Programs for the Chuuk State School System. He was once the Director of the Chuuk Bilingual Education Program, and prior to that was a school teacher. Director Reverend Kimiuo is also a Traditional Chief of Tolensom Municipality, Faichuk Region. The Oath of Office Ceremony ended at 11:00 am with light refreshment. Staff from the three Departments as well as family members crowded the President Office to partake and witness. |
