President & his Delegation Attend Inauguration in Kosrae StatePALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service) - President Jacob Nena with his delegation, on January 12, attended the inauguration in Kosrae for the State's Governor, Lt. Governor and Legislature members. Kosrae State had its election in November last year to fill the seats of the Governor, Lt. Governor and the 14 seats in the Kosrae State Legislature. Rensley A. Sigrah who was the FSM Public Auditor won the Governor race over then Governor Moses Mackwelung. Gerson A. Jackson won and retain the seat of Lt. Governor. At the inauguration, FSM President Jacob Nena gave the keynote address and Governor Mackwelung, the welcoming remarks. The Governor and Lt. Governor were administered the oath of offices by Kosrae Acting Chief Justice Aliksa B. Aliksa and FSM Supreme Court Chief Justice Andon Amaraich, respectively. The oath of office was also administered to the Speaker and Vice Speaker by Aliksa and to the Floor Leader and members of Kosrae State Legislature, by Amaraich. Inaugural addresses were by the new Governor, Lt. Governor, and the Speaker, respectively. Governor Mackwelung presented the change of administration and the closing remarks, by the Vice Speaker of the Kosrae State Legislature. Songs were presented by different choirs and the invocation and benediction were by Reverends Benjamin Benjamin and Kun S. Sigrah, respectively. The President was accompanied by First Lady Lerina, Dr. Eliuel Pretrick, and Dr. Catalino Cantero, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health Education and Social Affairs, respectively; Jolten Johnnyboy, Administrator for Communication Division, Department of Transportation, Communication, and Infrastructures; Sihna Lawrence, Acting Secretary of the Department of Finance; Josiah Waguk, Special Assistant to the President, and Elieser Rospel from the information office. |
