FSM National Police bids farewell to retired Lt. BakinPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): May 2, 2012 - The FSM National Police said farewell to a long serving dedicated colleague after he announced his retirement on April 23 2012. Lieutenant Benjamin Bakin started his police career in 1990 as a patrol officer. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2000 and later became a Lieutenant in 2005 when he was assigned to the Search and Rescue (SAR) Unit. During his 22 years of service, Lieutenant Bakin has undertaken numerous police trainings and involved in many police operations. At the farewell the Acting Secretary of Department of Justice, Johnson Asher presented a certificate of appreciation to Lieutenant Bakin and expressed his appreciation to him and his family for the years of dedicated service with the FSM National Police. Lieutenant Bakin was presented the FSM Independence medal as well as a Long Service medal for having served more than 15 years with the FSM National Police. Chief of FSM National Police, Takasy Reim thanked Lieutenant Bakin for his service. "On behalf of the National Police, I would like to say thank you to Ben for his support and service, and I would also like to acknowledge his wife and family, who have also played a major role in helping Ben as a senior police officer", Chief Reim said. Members of the FSM National Police and friends will miss working alongside Lieutenant Bakin and all wished him best on his retirement. |
