FSM ASA Meets in KosraePALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): May 20, 1997 - The Federated States of Micronesia Amateur Sports Association and 2nd FSM Games Organizing Committee is holding the final planning meeting for the 2nd FSM Games, on Kosrae, today, May 20-22nd. The meeting will be co-chaired by Dr. Eliuel K. Pretrick, President of the FSM Amateur Sports Association and Kosrae Governor Moses T. Mackwelung, Chairman of the 2nd FSM Games Organizing Committee. The 2nd FSM Games will be held on Kosrae from July 15-25th. FSM Amateur Sports Association members from Chuuk, Yap, and Pohnpei will arrive on Kosrae on Monday, May 19. The meetings will begin on Tuesday morning, May 20th, with briefings on local transportation, food and catering, security, medical, protocol, media, awards ceremonies and arrival and departures. The afternoon will be spent touring the athletes villages in Utwa, Malem, Tafunsak and Lelu. The second day of the sports meeting will concern the sports competition committee. Members of the FSM Amateur Sports Association and 2nd FSM Games Organizing Committee will tour the sports venues and facilities on Kosrae, meet with the 12 sports tournament directors and finalize the sports schedules of the 2nd FSM Games. The final day of the meetings, Thursday, May 22nd will report on the status of the four FSM States sports delegations. The meeting will adjourn at noon with the off-island delegates departing Kosrae at 3:00 p.m. for Pohnpei, Chuuk and Yap. Dr. Pretrick, in a letter written to the four FSM States Representatives of the FSM Amateur Sports Association, requested that the representatives bring each FSM States final rosters of delegation and teams, athletes and coaches accreditation forms with 2 passport photographs, registration fees and 5 FSM States flags. Dr. Pretrick, in the letter, stressed the importance for the FSM State representatives to be organized and prepared for the Kosrae meeting. |
