President Mori expresses national condolences to Uruo familyPalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Services): June 5, 2007 - President Emanuel Mori has sent condolences from the Federated States of Micronesia to the family of United States Army Sergeant Iosiwo Uruo who died on May 24 2007, in Iraq. According to a US Department of Defense release, Sgt. Uruo died of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked. Sergeant Uruo is the son of Isaoshy and Iosita Uruo from the State of Chuuk, and was raised in Guam. He was 27. President Mori's letter to the family expresses condolences from the government and the people of the FSM joins him in "expressing our our deepest sympathies and prayers to you and your family. "Iosiwo's service and ultimate sacrifice are indeed portrayals of his courage and commitment to the values and ideals of a free world. We are proud to remember him as one of our true Micronesian heroes. "May the Lord grant you and your family peace during your time of mourning and help us all to bear with this tremendous loss of our fellow son and brother of the FSM," the letter concluded. |
