FSM to Attend 4^th Regional Youth Conference, and Ministerial Meeting

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): June 23, 1998 - The FSM will be represented at the Fourth Regional Conference for Pacific youth, and Ministerial Meeting scheduled for June 25-27 in French Polynesia.

Attending for the FSM are the Deputy Secretary of Health, Education and Social Affairs, Dr. Catalino Cantero; FSM Youth and Development Program Coordinator, William Eperiam and non-government, (NGO) Youth Organization; Debora Nakayama, according to Eperiam.

During this meeting, Eperiam and Nakayama are expected to deal with their overall national and regional youth situations.

Questions like the role of regional and international organization; the NGO roles in youth developments in the region; and kinds of policies to be formulated and implemented. These will form part of a package to be represented at the Ministerial meeting from June 30^th to July 1^st, for consideration and endorsement.

Dr. Cantero is attending the Ministerial meeting for the FSM.
