UN recruiting drive begins soonPOHNPEI, Palikir (FSM Information Service): August 2000 - The annual recruitment drive of the United Nations Secretariat is seeking qualified candidates from the FSM to take the competitive examination to be held in Palikir, Pohnpei, between February 5 and 9, 2001, according to a press release from the United Nations. To qualify a candidate must be an FSM citizen and be no older than 32 years of on December 31, 2001. The candidate must have at least a bachelors degree in one of the following fields or related areas: Administration, demography, economics, electronic data processing, finance, legal affairs, library, political affairs, social affairs, or statistics. The candidate must also be fluent in English or French. Knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish will be an advantage. To receive full consideration, applications should be received by September 22, 2000, by the Examinations and Tests Section at the United Nations In New York.
