A Hope to Change and Renew Efforts for the Children of the FSMA Pledge for Children is a Pledge for the Future - Say Yes!Today, Children in the FSM live safer, healthier, and fuller lives than they did a decade ago, before the government became a party to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in 1993. The first International Human Rights treaty acceded by the FSM government was the CRC, which set forth guidelines for developing State and National policies, programs, and Laws relating to the welfare of children. Now that a decade has passed it is time to join the world once again and review the progress in meeting the commitments and obligations entered into with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Mrs. Iris Falcam will join the World's Leaders in New York for the United Nations Special Session on Children next month. In New York, she will share the progress that the FSM has made with regards to our children over the last ten years. She will listen to the progress of other nations, and she will engage in discussion on the emerging concerns for the future of our children. |
