State Judiciary Funerals: Simina and BizaKOLONIA, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): September 2, 2003 - The Federated States of Micronesia laid to rest two prominent Judiciary from the States of Chuuk and Pohnpei this past week. Associate Justice Wanis R. Simina of the Chuuk State Supreme Court was in Pohnpei for a Judiciary conference during which he suffered a heart attack and later died of congestive heart failure at the Pohnpei State Hospital. Associate Justice Simina's body returned to Chuuk where a State Funeral was held on August 27, at the Chuuk State Supreme Court to honor his many years of service to the State. He is survived by his wife, Chieko Simina and their 10 children and grandchildren. Associate Justice Henry P. Biza of the Pohnpei Supreme Court died at Saint Luke's Hospital in the Philippines undergoing treatments for cranial tumor. A State Funeral on August 27, at the Pohnpei State Supreme Court received the remains of Associate Justice Biza's back in Pohnpei. Associate Justice Biza is survived by his wife Cecilia Biza and their seven children along four grandchildren. President Joseph J. Urusemal had ordered all flags at half-mast in the FSM for four consecutive days in commemoration of the two Associate Justices who died during their tenure. |
