U.S JTF-HD "All Hazards Terrorism" Subject Matter Expert Exchange WorkshopPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): September 7, 2009 - The Office of Environment and Emergency Management in collaboration with the Department of Defense's (DOD) joint Task Force-Homeland Defense (JTF-HD) will be hosting the "All-Hazards Terrorism" Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) workshop at the Pacific Skylite Hotel in Pohnpei State from September 07 to 09, 2009. This event is a series of emergency response related exchanges that facilitated a dynamic forum of joint interagency partners, local agencies and stakeholders. The purpose of the All-Hazards/Terrorism SMEE is to identify the processes, procedures, and structure to facilitate Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) support to Pohnpei, FSM. The goal is to build on last year's exchange and provide an opportunity to test and help identify the current strengths and areas of improvement in the Pohnpei and FSM emergency response plans. JTF-HD would also benefit from seeing first hand on how the processes and procedures work among the disaster management agencies of Pohnpei, FSM for all-hazards and terrorism events. It is anticipated that this workshop will provide the local agencies, DOD and JTF-HD a better understanding of the current disaster/mass casualty response operation in Pohnpei, FSM. |
