Special election set for Chuuk's 4-yr seatPalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Services): September 9, 2004 - A Special Election has been scheduled for October 14 2004, to fill Chuuk State's vacant four-year seat in the Thirteenth Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia. The Office of the National Election Director encourages all eligible Chuukese voters to participate in the process. Particulars of the Special Election are as follows: 1. Nomination petitions, are to be obtained from and returned to the indicated address no later than September 14, 2004 along with a filing petition fee of $100 money order payable to the FSM National Treasury. Requests for Absentee Votes Ballots, should be addressed to the National Election Commissioner for the State of Chuuk through the nearest overseas Embassy or Consulate Offices.
Voters living in locations other than those listed above should send their request directly to the Chuuk National Election Commissioner at the above address. 3. Designated Special Polling (Saipan, Guam and Honolulu), voters intending to vote at a special polling places must request through the FSM Consulate Offices in Guam and Honolulu - Before September 14 2004. Those who have already registered for in previous elections, need not request again, as they have been listed under those designated special polling places.
