Nena Invites Participants to Forum on Aid for Self-SufficiencyPALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): September 10, 1997 - FSM President Jacob Nena, in a September 5, 1997 letter, invited governors, legislative speakers and senate president, and Presidents and Chief Executive Officers of the three Banks, to participate in the Forum on Aid for Self-sufficiency, to address the important topic of aid coordination and management within the FSM. The Forum being jointly sponsored by the FSM Government and the United Nations Development Plan (Program) (UNDP) is scheduled to be held in Pohnpei on the 17th and 18th of September. The UNDP is providing funds to cover travel costs for two participants each from Chuuk, Yap and Kosrae. Invitees are requested to make their travel arrangements in their states. The Secretary of the FSM Department of Finance is coordinating the event and any questions relating to this forum can be directed to Mr. John Ehsa. President concluded his letter by saying that he hopes for an excellent workshop and direct participation by the invitees which will result in a clear policy direction for aid management and coordination in the FSM.
