Education Conference Results in Three Resolutions in Two DaysPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): September 24, 2009 - FSM Association of Chiefs State School Officers (FACSSO), comprising of the four FSM State Directors of Education, the President of the College of Micronesia-FSM, and the FSM Secretary of the Department of Education, met on Monday September 14th and Tuesday September 15th, 2009 to discuss some matters of importance associating to the nation's education system. This two days meeting resulted in the endorsement of three resolutions. Resolution # FR09-10 Endorses the need for the States Department of Education to consider hiring former T-3 Program highly performing instructors to enhance state Career and Technology Education (CTE) workforce & skill development and Guam Build Up Programs. Resolution # FR09-11 Supports the need for National Office of Statistics Budget and Office of Compact Management (SBOC) to work collaboratively with the state departments of Finance and State Budget Officers in securing financial needs for state department of education in each state. And, Resolution # FR09-12 sets forth in support of the schedule for the administration of the COM Entrance Test (COMET) to be moved from fall to spring.
