Directors Yatilman and Nimea Sworn into OfficePalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Service): October 5, 2007 - President Manny Mori administered the oath of office to the two new cabinets heads. In a brief ceremony held in the President's Cabinet Room, Director Andrew R. Yatilman of the Office of Environment and Emergency Management and Director Fabian Nimea of the Office Statistics, Budget, Overseas Development Assistance and compact Management were sworn in to office on Tuesday, October 2, 2007. Prior to his nomination, Director Yatilman was the Secretary of the Department of Transportation, Communication & Infrastructure. He graduated from University of Guam with BA in Science, and University of Hawaii School of Public Health (Graduate Studies) Certificate, International Public Health Policy & Planning. Director Nimea was the Chief Executive Officer for FFGI Consulting Group and the Trustee for Micronesia Longline Fishing Company (MLFC) when nominated by President Mori. As a consultant he has dome work for the United Nations and other international organizations, the National, Pohnpei State, Sokehs and U Municipal Governments and a numerous of public and private enterprises in Pohnpei. Mr. Nimea graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School, the premier national graduate school of banking at the University of Washington, Washington, USA. He also graduated from Creighton University, Nebraska, USA, with a BSBA in Business Management and MA in International Relations. He has numerous professional training, among others, in Advance Executive Development, Strategic Management of Development Programs, Financial Management, Project Management, Training of Trainers, Fisheries Economics and Financial Appraisal, and Management Information System. President Mori thanked Congress for approving these two qualified servants of the people. He also thanked the congress for passing the FY 2008 budget. The President noted that the reorganization has passed and we can move on with the implementation of the new reorganization, but most importantly to work towards achieving the goals and objective of the government strategic Development Plan. President concluded his brief remarks by asking congress to consider and pass the remaining nominations and new nominations that will be submitted, including funding that have been send over to congress. The swear-in ceremony was attended by Vice President Alik L. Alik, Chairman Sitan, Cabinet Members, Government Officials, families, and friends of Director Yatilman and Nimea. |
