President Calls for Fifth Special Session of FSM Congress

Palikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Services): October 27, 2008 - President Manny Mori has called for a 5th special session of the 15th Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia to convene November 26, to December 2, 2008.

In a letter to Speaker Figir dated October 22, 2008 President Mori requests Congress to consider critical issues and urgent matters facing our nation which include the following:

  1. Public Auditor's Office in Chuuk and T3 Budget;
  2. Remaining nomination requiring advice and consent of Congress;
  3. JEMCO;
  4. Multi-purpose Building;
  5. Chuuk's issue; and
  6. Pending bills and resolution

President has informed members of his cabinet of the upcoming session and directed them to be prepared to brief Congress on issues and matters which are included in the call of the session.
