President Mori to attend a Special Pacific ACP Leaders Meeting in Port Moresby, Papua New GuineaPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): November 20, 2012 - At the invitation of the Honorable Peter O'Neill, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, President Manny Mori and First Lady Emma Nelson-Mori left Pohnpei to PNG on Saturday, November 17, 2012, where the President will attend a Special Leaders Meeting of the Pacific African Caribbean States (PACPS), which is scheduled for November 21, 2012, in Port Moresby. During the Special Leaders Meeting, President Mori and other Pacific ACP Leaders will discuss a number of issues of critical importance to the economic development of the region, the status on the Multilateral Fisheries Treaty negotiations with the United States, progress in the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) negotiations between the European Union and the PACPS, as well as Fiji's participation in PACP meetings. The fourteen PACPS are: Cook Islands, FSM, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, PNG, Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. Accompanying President Mori and First Lady Emma Nelson-Mori to the Special Pacific ACP Meeting are the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, the Honorable Lorin S. Robert; and the Trade Policy Adviser at the FSM Department of Resources and Development, Mr. Jean Bertrand Azapmo.
