Simion heads Chuuk Social SecurityPALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): December 3, 2002 - The Federated States of Micronesia Social Security Administration (FSMSSA) has secured Orion Simion as the new manager for its branch office in Chuuk. Simion has more than 20 years of experience in the Social Security program, recently serving the Chuuk branch office as the assistant manager under the late manager, Danimoto James. The new manager's experiences cover the spectrum of services available under the social security program. Hired during the United States management of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, Simion began his tenure in the program in 1980 serving as a clerk for the then Truk Social Security office. In 1982, he became a Field Technician, a position for which he served until his promotion to Assistant Manager in 1999. The untimely passing of the branch manager last September presented the opportunity for Simion to apply his vast skills and experiences to continue the progress of the office. According to Alexander Narruhn - Administrator of the FSMSSA, Simion's selection to head the office is a testament of the dedication, determination and the wealth of experience he has to offer to the program. Simion officially began his new post on November 17, 2002. |
